Brief Description of Company or Position

The Greene School is RI's first Expeditionary Learning Charter High School, located in beautiful West Greenwich, RI. We are a public high school that currently serves students from 17 school districts throughout RI, with a focus on environmental education, sustainability and 21st century technology. We are thrilled to have just completed our founding year with tremendous success. We are so excited to be holding our first Annual Greene School auction this November 4th, 2011. This event is extremely significant not only for raising money for our school and capital campaign to build our own sustainable campus on the W. Alton Jones campus of The University of Rhode Island, but it also serves as an opportunity to partner with many local business and community members to bring awareness to the importance of environmental education as well as parental choice in public education.

Responsibilities

Volunteers must be willing to take a lead role in welcoming guests and proving support to our guests throughout the event. Outgoing and friendly volunteers are extremely important. We also need individuals with experience/enthusiastic willingness to organize auction items and monitor both live and silent auction activities. This event must be of the utmost highest quality, especially as it pertains to our guests and supporters, therefore a willingness to jump in when a need is apparent is vital.

Qualifications Required

Volunteers must possess a friendly, outgoing personality. Volunteers must be willing to not only take direction from the auction coordinator, but also be willing to take on a leadership role when a need is apparent during the event.

Education: Current member of the Special Events Society, or an individual of equal passion and experience level.
